💬 Bridging Perspectives
The ongoing divorce and custody battle between tech entrepreneur Prasanna Sankar and his estranged wife, Dhivya, has intensified with accusations and counter-accusations flying between the two. Sankar, co-founder of Rippling, has publicly refuted Dhivya's claims that he "kidnapped" their nine-year-old son and is a "sex predator." This response comes after Sankar initially accused Dhivya of harassment and misusing the police due to dissatisfaction with their divorce settlement.
Rebutting the Accusations
Sankar has presented WhatsApp screenshots and email exchanges between lawyers to support his claims. He alleges that Dhivya "abducted" their son to the US from Singapore and "brainwashed" him into believing his father had abandoned him. Sankar claims that his wife had voluntarily instructed when he should pick up their son, contradicting her claim of forceful removal. He also highlighted a proposed "mutual consent divorce in India" with a 50/50 parenting plan, financial support for Dhivya, and Sankar covering all child-related expenses.
Addressing "Sex Predator" Allegations
Dhivya accused Sankar of being a "sex predator" who secretly recorded women, leading to his alleged imprisonment in Singapore. Sankar denies these allegations, stating he was cleared of all charges by Singapore police after similar accusations were made. He also mentioned that a US judge ruled in his favour regarding the same accusation made in Washington. Sankar refutes Dhivya's claim that he transferred matrimonial assets to his father to evade taxes, clarifying that those were his shares in Rippling, a company she had no involvement in.
Current Situation and Demands
Sankar claims his son attended the "best school" in Singapore but was placed in a public school in the US after Dhivya "abducted" him. He agrees to return the child to his mother only if she does not "abduct" him again. He wants the child's passport secured in a joint locker, as per their previous agreement, and adherence to the 50/50 custody plan. He had earlier accused Chennai police of harassment and extortion related to his friend who helped him pick up his son.
