It made six test flights and traveled more than 6,234 kilometers (3,873 miles) before landing at Delhi. The tragic demise of a 26-year-old Chartered Accountant, Anna Sebastian Perayil, who had been working at Ernst & Young (EY) in Pune for four months, has prompted the Union Labour Ministry to launch an investigation. According to Perayil’s mother, her daughter’s death was attributed to the “unsafe and exploitative work environment” where she did such an around-the-clock job that came with “backbreaking workload” coupled with “work stress.” BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje have shared their condolences and called upon the government to conduct detailed inquiries on this issue. EY has stated that it will continue to advance and maintain health-promoting conditions in all its offices nationwide.
